Libyan Glass, also known as Libyan Desert Glass and Great Sand Sea Glass, is a particular form of silica glass formed during the impact of a large meteor with the Earth's surface around 29 million years ago. The material is classified as an impactite or tektite. While tektites form various strewn fields around the Earth are generally dark green to black in colour, Libyan Glass is white to golden yellow in colour. It is found in the desert of eastern Libya and western Egypt.
Metaphysically, many consider these stones to be energetically powerful due to the nature of their formation. They aid with building and maintaining will power, and with aiding in manifestation.
